š· Outdoor Jazz Festival with 4 Jazz Bands, a variety of merchandise, artists, jewelry vendors from around the country, food trucks, games, and fun for the whole family. šŗ Jazz Musicians include Buddy Fambro, Joan Collaso, Marqueal Jordan, and the Willie Fultz Band featuring Skinny Williams.
Bronzeville was a city within a city, the second largest Black city in the world in the 1940s, St. Clair Drake and Horace Cayton wrote in Black Metropolis. The South Side, seven miles long and one and a half miles wide, stretched from 22nd to 63rd Streets between Wentworth and Cottage Grove; supporting 500 churches and 300 doctors, it was the " capital of Black America" in the 1940s! One of the primary destinations of the Great Migration of Blacks from the South to the North.
